yea, it's ridiculous to get a job nowadays. The only ways are to have decent references or know people.

I've never had a job. Straight out of high school I went to college. When I try to apply for jobs, I have nothing to put down as far as job experience and because let's face it, I'm fat, I don't get looked at twice for a job. My parents want me to get a job, but I tell them that the people who are hiring are looking for people with experience.

Yea, they really do look for expperience, which is why you use someone you know and tell them to make up a company and use them as a reference.

To get this thread back to what it was about, I will say that that tip about using a friend as a reference and make up a fake company was a neat little secret, because I didn't know that. Though, couldn't someone just look up the company on the internet?

As for me, I lied about one of my references to get a job, because I got fired from my last job. Kinda same here, only I just told them I was laid off, and not canned, as such. And then I was really careful about the people I used as references. For example, instead of my bitchy supervisor, I'm using my first boss who is awesome and loves me and was mad that bitchy supervisor let me go. |
