So as of lately, a good friend of mine has been preaching the good word of Minecraft to me. He recently bought it for me as well (as my nineteenth birthday looms around the corner), and to my surprise... I haven't played the game at all! Instead, I've been spending all of my time making skins, like this one.So what do you think of Minecraft?

Minecraft is supremely addicting, and I love the feel of the single-player survival mode. There's no storylines or NPCs to talk to, just an infinite expanse of water and land. You awaken on the shore, perhaps shipwrecked, though there is no sign that any boat ever existed. You build a shelter to hide from the elements, and you begin to settle into your new environment.
But then you encounter them. It turns out you are not as alone as you previously thought. Hounded by undead abominations, you make it through your first night. And another. And another. Your humble fort expands with every passing day. Soon, you realize that you are building for aesthetics more than survival. They can't touch you as long as you have four sturdy walls around you, and it does not matter how long those walls are. You are proud of your craftsmanship, and you create building after building to fill the world you have now accepted as your home. Cities and castles spring up in your wake, and you are able to shape the world to your liking.
Soon, you begin to realize that you long for someone to share your creations with; someone to admire your work. No one ever comes. You've built cities and homes and beds on this strange frontier, and yet you have no one to fill them. Loneliness gives way to anger. They are the only company you have. You lash out at them. You try to destroy and eradicate every last trace of them, but they are unending. You are soon overwhelmed, almost glad to embrace death. The loneliness has become too much to bear, and it it is not long before you succumb to your wounds.
Then you awaken on the shore.

[tl;dr]The Minecraft world is hell, but without all that "eternal flame" business.
