Opinions, whatever.
I think they are cool, but they are extremely anti piracy and I don't know about hacks.
Plus you need online just to install some games (halflife2)

I think theirs is the only DRM I've seen that doesn't encourage the "lolpirateeverything" mindset. You buy the game, you can install it on as many computers as you want, and you need an internet connection to authenticate your CD key. It's a pretty fair deal if you ask me.
Then there's Ubisoft...

Hey, wait, shouldn't we have a Steam group or something? You know, since that's what the cool kids are in to these days?

A friend of mine came over to my house and downloaded a program called steam onto my computer. He said he was going to use it real quick and then uninstall it. Well that was months ago and I still have it on my computer. I have no idea what it is, and it seems to need a user name and password. Is this the same Steam that everyone else is talking about?

It probably is, Rockstar. I don't know of any other programs using the name Steam, and Steam has community elements in addition to the gaming stuff. Maybe he just wanted to chat real quick while he was away from home?

No he played a game. He was over to play some games, but I got busy on the computer so while I was on the computer, he played a game on Steam. When I finished we went to play games, and I guess he never deleted it.

You can get games for less, too.
Anyone hear of Plants vs. Zombies? It's half price if you buy it through Steam. ^^

I'm lucky if I get to play my PS3, Xbox, PSP, or DS games. I don't need any games for the PC.

Heh, me either. PvZ is the only exception to that, though.

Plus, I am so behind the times on games, right now the latest game I own for the Xbox is Left For Dead, and on the PS3, I am currently trying to get all the trophies for Grand Theft Auto 4.

I'm not exactly up to date either. My "list" has been backing up recently, with games like Splinter Cell: Conviction, Civilization V, and Red Dead Redemption taking a back seat to things like, I don't know, food that isn't from the damned dining hall. The last game I actually bought was Pokémon HeartGold, and that was a couple months ago. All I know is, as soon as From Dust comes out, some way, some how I WILL play it.
