Hey guys. Picked up a PS2 Slim at a garage sale. I just finished checking out /v/'s Recommended Games list, and I honestly don't know where to start.
So how about I start with you guys? Any of you have any suggestions for your favourite PS2 games, why they're great, and why I should play?

I'm pretty open to all genres nowadays. I used to live for platformers and action/adventure games, and they're generally my favourite. But I'm open ears to just about everything now. |

Hmm well best game I can think off the top of my head, EVER, for ps2 is Ico. Don't try any of the Final Fantasies for PS2 - everything after IX was bad.

Shit, the only PS2 games I still play are Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, and Madden 08 (cause it's the latest Madden I have). I don't agree with Ketchup, because I played all the way through X and X-2. Not so much XII, but I did enjoy X and X-2 when I played them. Though nothing beats VIII to me. Plus there were a few VII follow ups that were interesting. Isn't Dirge of Cerberus on PS2? I never played it but it might be good.

I agree with Ash on Ico. When you're done with that, the obvious choice should be Shadow of the Colossus.
Here's a few more I particularly enjoy:
- any katamari game
- persona 4
- gitaroo man (which is kinda impossible to find)

Yeah, I have Disgaea 2 for my PSP.
- Resident Evil: Outbreak 1 and 2
I know they aren't great games, but I played them for 100s of hours back when I owned them. It just seemed to bring the series back to it's roots in shitty camera angles and killin' zombies.
